Namazu – 1 Year On

A year of using the Namazu Hook has basically transformed my Angling from above average to 5star exceptional!
A heavy word to use but an absolute true fact.
The hook up rate and hold is something that I still struggle to get my head round.
Yes time is needed and I am pretty lucky that I have so much to put my Angling skills to the test, also a very understanding missus and a will to want the best..
I know a hook can’t catch you fish till it is presented and taken. Hard work goes hand in hand with successful catch rates and big fish.
Then, the Namazuhook comes into its own. Nobody wants to travel 1000s of miles around the globe only to be let down by inappropriate tackle, weak tackle, or tackle that cannot live up to the fish you seek.. The NAMAZUHOOK CAN! It’s strength, it’s Sharpness, it’s absolute perfect shape and positioning stands above the rest and leaves no stone unturned where tough hook ups are needed.
I will recap my captures from a year gone by and only fishing with this incredible hook. For only twice in this last year have I felt that sinking, stomach wrenching feeling when you lose a truly big fish…. a massive improvement on yesteryear..
I have tested this hook on some of the most toothy boney mouthed fish that swim but mostly on our loveable wels.
I admit I seek big fish, so have only listed captures over 90lb+ in the UK and 100lb+ abroad. Or anything that i myself felt as a good achievement. I have tested the hooks on big livebaits, breaklining and float fishing. Trolling in vast open Scottish Lochs and deep flowing rivers. Lure fishing using Rubber baits again in Rivers and Lochs. Pellet fishing in the Uk and Europe and Asia. Deadbaiting and many more meaty baits.. The captures can not be overlooked. In 10 days I caught 3000lb+ of Wels on the same 2 hooks without change or sharpening. A truly remarkable show of what this piece of innovation has to offer.

5 different species taken on the Namazuhook in just under a year with 27 breaking the magic barrier.
There were also other boney mouthed fish caught in Thailand which gave me just as much pleasure if not more, just to hook them. A list I am proud of but could and would not have landed at least half of the above without a decent hook…
